The Incredible Melting Man            Mystery Movie

The schedule of films starts with 1977’s The Incredible Melting Man – the story of an astronaut returning home from an ill-fated space flight who transforms into a gelatinous mass and must consume the flesh of human beings in order to keep himself from suffering a horrible death. The film's oozing makeup effects were created by renowned effects artist Rick Baker (An American Werewolf In London, Videodrome, Men In Black).

Next in line is A Toss of the Coin – a 12 minute short horror film shot on 35mm and directed by Dayton filmmaker Patrick Steele which makes its sixth appearance at our festival. The director will be in attendance to answer questions about making the film.

Also we are proud to announce that Horrorama will be offering the Ohio premiere of the newest film by legendary Italian director Dario Argento – his long awaited sequel to both Suspiria and Inferno – 2007’s The Mother of Tears will be our third film of the evening. In this film Sarah Mandy (Asia Argento), an American studying art restoration at the Museum of Ancient Art in Rome, examines an urn found at an ancient, decrepit grave near Viterbo. Bound within are the relics of a witch known as the Mother of Tears, Mater Lachrimarum (Moran Atias). Breaking the seal heralds the return of the beautiful yet malefic sorceress' powers, and the world is plunged into chaos. A wave of suicides and crime sweeps over Italy's capital as witches congregate to pay homage to their reborn queen. Sarah must eventually discover her latent supernatural powers with the help of her deceased mother (Daria Nicolodi) and confront Lachrimarum at the opulent Palazzo Varelli.

Also to be shown is a film that proves it's not okay to flush that baby alligator down the toilet, 1980's Alligator starring Oscar Winner Robert Forster.

Finishing off the evening will be an as of yet unannounced Mystery Movie which will surely be worth the wait for those of you who dare to brave the later hours of Horrorama.

For the last 12 years, Horrorama has raised thousands of dollars for charity. Horrorama sponsors are always needed. In previous years sponsors have included Bookery Fantasy, Foy’s Halloween Shop, Troma Pictures of New York and even Pulp Fiction’s director Quentin Tarantino, himself.

Horrorama is not just a passive movie watching event, every year Horrorama features a costume contest as well as other contests such as a “zombie walking” and ‘screaming” contests.

Tickets for Horrorama 2008 are $11.00 in advance and $13.00 day of the show.
